He Eye Specialist Hospital is not only a national standardized training base for residents, but also the co-operative training base of the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) and the only training base for blindness prevention and treatment in China designated by the Health Commission of the P.R.C..
It not only provides residency professional theory courses, but also establishes training courses and animal eye experiments according to ICO standards. Discussions on international difficult case, teaching rounds and scientific thinking training are made regularly. At the same time, personalized surgical training programs are added for the graduate students, that is, they can have the opportunity to independently do 50-100 SICS surgeries, 5-10 glaucoma surgeries, and 5-10 strabismus surgeries.
