The purpose of the public welfare project is to improve the ophthalmic diagnosis and treatment ability of the three hospitals in an all-round way through telemedicine, surgical assistancesurgery and personnel training, so as to fundamentally solve the local phenomenon of "blindness due to poverty and return topoverty due tocaused by blindness".

As the only training base for the prevention and treatment of blindness by the National Health and Family PlanningCommission, He Eye Specialist Hospital will provide training oncataract surgeryteam, optometryteam,and subspecialtytraining and other training for the cooperative county hospitals, and carry out public welfare surgery one after another.

On August 6, the first batch of trainees selected by the three hospitals began the training of cataract surgeons and eye surgery nursesnursingin Liaoning for a period of 3 to 6 months.

The return of the students are expected to returnto the local hospitalsarea withll effectively improve the ophthalmicbetter diagnosis and treatment abilityof the county hospital.

It is expected that at the end of the three-year project, He Eye Specialist Hospital will leave a number of "uncarriedpermanentmedical teams" for Pingtang County and Luodian County.

In the future, the State Development and Investment Corporation, HeEye Hospital and Delos Foundation International Liaoning Light of Love Blind Prevention Foundation will make joint efforts to improve the level of ophthalmic care in poor areas of China, and continue to pay attention to other health poverty alleviation projects.
