On the occasion of the third Belt and Road International Cooperation Forum, to implement the consensus between the leaders of China and Russia, and strengthen the exchange and cooperation in the field of medical and health between Liaoning Province and the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia's Khabarovsk Border Region (Хабаровский край), the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Liaoning Province led representatives from  He Eye Specialist Hospital and Liaoning He University to embark on the " Healthy Eyes " program in Khabarovsk, the capital of the Khabarovsk Border Region, on October 19.

During the event, the delegation visited the Clinical Hospital of Voyenno-Yasenevetsky (ородская клиническая больница» имени профессора А.М. Войно-Ясенецкого МЗХК) and the Far Eastern National Medical University.

At the Clinical Hospital of Voyenno-Yasenevetsky, the delegation members had discussions with Mr Adayev, the Deputy Director of the hospital, Ms Neifelid, and Ms Aflameko, the Director of the Ophthalmology Department, to further enhance the exchange and cooperation in the field of ophthalmology. They also collaborated with the medical staff of the hospital in the joint diagnosis and treatment of cataract patients.

In the Far Eastern State Medical University, the delegation held a symposium with experts and professors led by President Zhimelenetsky to discuss the establishment of inter-university medical cooperation and exchange between Liaoning Province and the university. He Eye Specialist Hospital, Liaoning He University and the Far Eastern State Medical University reached an intention to cooperate on ophthalmology academic exchanges, research and development of medical examination equipment, non-degree ophthalmology training, and exchange of talents, and the three parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Ms. Liu Yang, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Khabarovsk, attended the signing ceremony.

In addition, Yan Chunhong, representative of Liaoning He University and Zhang Bin, Deputy Director of Ophthalmic Surface and Corneal Disease Specialty of He Eye Specialist Hospital, conducted an academic presentation entitled "Main Experiences and Models of Medical Protection of Eye Diseases in He Eye Department" at the Far Eastern State Medical University, and shared the successful experiences and models in the field of eye health with teachers and students of the medical university. The presentation was hosted by the President of the Far Eastern State Medical University, Mr. Zimelenetsky. Many teachers and students inquired about the healthcare system in Liaoning Province in detail and expressed their hope that they would have the opportunity to come to study and exchange ideas.

This year is the 10th anniversary of the initiative to build " Belt and Road", He Eye Specialist Hospital went to the Khabarovsk Krai in the Russian Far East Federal District to carry out exchanges and cooperation in the field of medical and healthcare, also is to promote the initiative to build " Belt and Road" to go deeper and more practical and is another positive practice. In the future, He Eye Specialist Hospital will continue to participate in the " Belt and Road" through academic, technology and talent exchanges, model sharing and other means, and contribute more to the promotion of in-depth cooperation in medical and health care between China and the countries along the " Belt and Road".
